From creating an aura in the hit drama Sher that people are still admiring to grooms and groomsmen pouring in, having getting inspired by Ayeza Khan’s brother’s wedding, there is one name that continuously rolls into the mix: Emraan Rajput. Whether it’s a sherwani or a linen piece from Era, his fast fashion brand, Emraan Rajput’s designs for Danish Taimoor transcend the belief of putting the celebrity in just about anything. Instead, he pushes sartorial boundaries when designing for the much-loved actor, creating designs that are markedly different from the usual menswear and ensure that he stands out.
Having collaborated for quite some time, both Danish Taimoor and Emraan Rajput have found an unspoken rhythm within their respective styles as both designer and muse continue to evolve from one unforgettable look to the next. As Danish began preparations to travel to the US for his meet and greet exhibitions alongside his wife Ayeza Khan, Emraan was hard at work creating his signature looks for his appearances in cities such as New York, Chicago and Houston, to name a few.
“For me, designing is all about being a tastemaker,” Emraan said when he reflected on how the process took place. “When I think of Danish, I think of a star who continues to grow and evolve with each new appearance, project, campaign etc. It’s always a pleasure to be able to design looks for him because I know he’ll carry them effortlessly. He’s always been so accommodating when it’s come to my vision and never questions it. I suppose when you collaborate as frequently as we do, there’s a certain understanding that comes with it.”
With 1970’s fashion back in trend, Emraan borrowed inspiration from the old money suits that reigned supreme in that era, breathing a contemporary flair to them with pristine cuts and classic bell bottom pants. With crop tops and stretched lapels played upon a color palette of refined browns, navy blues, olive and bottle greens, each look fit each city.
It’s safe to say that the fans who traveled near and far to catch a glimpse of Danish and Ayeza took notes on the style statements that the actor made throughout.
