The Open Day recently organized by the Imperial Tutorial College (ITC), Karachi, was attended by an impressive number of young students aspiring to build their careers in the realms of textile and fashion. Many of the attendees were yet to begin their studies for a Bachelors’ degree and were visiting the college in the hope of getting admitted. Some others already had Bachelors’ degrees, in fields like Science or Business Administration that had been insisted upon by their parents. They had now come to ITC in the hope of following their own passions and eventually building careers in fashion or textile design.

The Open Day presentation, attended by a room bustling with prospective students and their parents, was testament to the increasing strength of Pakistan’s fashion and textile and the growing interest of the country’s youth in building a career in these industries. It was also an indication of how ITC – incepted by Image Pakistan Ltd. in 2020 – is considered a credible institute, dedicated towards instilling skills in its student body that can help them in their future careers.

Organized in partnership with Nisantashi Universtiy, Turkiye, the Open Day gave an overview of ITC’s Associate Degree Program and Undergraduate Degree in Fashion Design. Saira Danish Ahmed, Department Head ITC, conducted the Welcome Address, outlining the skills taught at the college, introducing the faculty consisting of experienced teachers and professionals from the fashion and textile industry and highlighting the career prospects available to the student body. Blending theoretical knowledge with hands-on experience, ITC’s rigorous and comprehensive approach to education endeavors to shape students into forward-thinking, technically-proficient individuals ready to excel in the global fashion landscape.

Attendees were also invited to explore the institute’s campus and observe exhibits of the student’s skills in embellishment and pattern-making, look through detailed sketch-books and see some of the completed designs by the students. Also in attendance were key members of media interested in observing first-hand the efforts made by the institute. Faculty members were on hand to answer questions and provide detailed information about the programs offered. Prospective students were informed about the upcoming admission test for the Associate Degree Program in Fashion Design, scheduled for August 4, 2024.

“We are thrilled with the turnout and the enthusiasm shown by prospective students and their families,” said Uzma Ahmed, Director ITC. “Our goal is to provide an immersive experience that showcases the unique opportunities available at ITC, and today’s event was a testament to our commitment to excellence in fashion education.”

ITC is powered by Image Pakistan, one of Pakistan’s leading retail high-street fashion brands with an ever-growing local and international presence, renowned for being the pioneer of Schiffli embroidery in Pakistan. The ITC fashion design college is founded and operated by Image, with a vision to help fashion designers by offering them unique and real-world learning, along with hands-on experience. Students at ITC often secure internship opportunities at Image, and participate in mentorship programs with its leading designers.

The ITC FALL 2024 semester is set to begin on August 26, 2024, and the faculty is ready to welcome a new cohort of students to its vibrant community. For more information about admissions and programs at ITC, please visit the Imperial Tutorial College website or contact the Admissions Office.
