A whirl of shocking pinks, greens and reds glint with gold. Pastels are set off by silver filigree. It’s wedding season at the Annus Abrar atelier and a curated collection of luxe formals caters to a range of varied festivities.
“This is a collection that aims to captivate the beauty of stars and the celestial magic of romance,” describe the designers.
The collection – Melia by Annus Abrar – merges tradition with a contemporary ethos, with intricate hand embroideries worked over luxe fabrics. The clothes exude beauty and timelessness.
The options are varied. Lame takes centerstage in a range of pastels – with dainty florals etched along the length of shirts with delicate silk thread embroideries, zardozi, crystals. Paired with sequined dupattas and varied lowers, the designs are instantly covetable.

There are lighter designs and then, those are heavily worked. This floor-length kalidar, for instance, crafted from lame in a metallic mauve shade, is set off by silver geometric and floral motifs, with the bodice worked with silk thread rosettes and crystals. The outfit comes paired with an ombre net dupatta and damask pants.

There are also bright splashes of color. A crimson kalidar is worked with intricate zardozi on the bodice and chunri block-printed panels, scalloped borders, gota details and a sequined net dupatta adding the finishing touch.

Another floor-length silk kalidar in a rich cranberry hue, showcases exquisite intricate zardozi embellishments complemented by velvet applique details. A chiffon dupatta completes the look.

One of the most regal designs in the collection features a long zari silk net shirt with a heavy duty, eye-catching neckline. The shirt is worked with silk rosettes, zardozi embroidery and color blocked panels and paired with a zari applique chiffon dupatta and an emerald green izaar.

It’s festive-wear for every occasion within the big fat Pakistani wedding; from the ring ceremony to engagement, baraat, nikah, valima! Annus Abrar have it all figured out with designs that truly do exude a celestial allure.
